CAMP IS ALL ABOUT THE ABILITY TO CHOOSE YOUR PATH, AND DISCOVER YOU CAPABILITIES.
Sparrow Lake Camp offers a variety of activities for campers of all skill levels. For younger campers, we ask parents to help choose activities your child will enjoy.
Listed here are the activities offered during the 2 daily camper-choice activity periods. Campers choose their favourites in order of preference, and we use software to create a personalized schedule for each camper based on their interests and availability. All campers will visit each activity at least once during the morning sessions with their cabins.
In addition to camper-choice periods, cabin-group activity periods, and Free Swim offer campers the opportunity to participate in all activity areas during their time at camp.
Our fleet of Topper Taz and Rs Quest boats are at your command! For beginners, our staff instruct campers on the basics of sailing in our Quest boats, while more experienced sailors can take out one of our Topper Taz boats!
The shallow bay on the south shore of camp is a great place for Canoeing, Kayaking, and Stand-up paddle Boarding! Our instructors teach campers the basics, as well as more advanced techniques in this classic summer camp activity.
Sling-Shots, and Archery are both part of our target sports range. Test your aim and work to improve your skills!
Swimming has always been a favourite at Sparrow Lake Camp! Our lake is relatively shallow, which means the water is warm enough to be comfortable, and cool enough to be refreshing on a hot summer day!
Our swim area has lifeguards on duty at ALL TIMES when the area is open to campers. Campers must also pass a swim test to be able to swim in the deep area. For campers who are not strong swimmers, they are able to stay in the shallow area, or use a PFD to enjoy the ‘deep end’ under the supervision of our lifeguards.
Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, and more are all part of the summer fun. Campers learn skills and play a variety of games with others in this action-packed camp activity.
No summer at camp would be complete without some time at the Craft Hut! The social and creative hub of overnight camp, Crafts offers an opportunity for campers to express themselves with eye-catching projects like tie-dye, jewlery making, candle dipping, and other classic camp crafts.
With many unique aerial elements and obstacles, as well as a 40’ rock climbing wall, the Ropes Course is bound to be a hit this summer! Professional, accredited staff supervise this area to ensure the safety of all.
Guests must fit properly into our harnesses to be able to participate. Other requirements may be in place for certain elements, however we will work with guests to run activities which are accessible to those who sign up for each session.
Dance, Sign, Act, Shine!
Campers who attend Performing Arts will have the opportunity to develop their performing skills and take part in showing their talents to the entire camp in our session showcases!
From cottage classics, like Corn Hole, Ladder Toss, Croquet, and Frisbee, to more exotic games like Kuub, and Bocce Ball, Leisure Games is a fun and social activity for campers who like to take it a bit easier while still trying their hand at fun and challenging games of skill and chance!
Campers who love art will love Studio Arts! This newer activity brings sculpture, painting, nature arts, and more to campers, allowing them to express themselves how they choose with the helpful guidance of our own talented Studio Art staff.
Our nature exploration program, Wonders of Wilderness offers campers a chance to get more familiar with the great outdoors though fun activities like shelter building, campfire cookery, hikes, and more!
