A Typical Day at Camp
7:00 am – Polar Bear Swim A quick morning dip to wake up. Points are awarded for each camper with Polar Bear Awards given out at the end of each session.
7:20 am – Wake Up to the Camp Bell
7:45 am – Morning Watch & Flagpole We all come together for a morning reflection, go to the flagpole to raise our flag of the day, and then play a quick game.
8:00 am – Breakfast in the Dining Hall
8:45 am – Cabin Clean-up Campers spend some time making sure their cabin is clean and safe. A competition is held to see which cabin has the cleanest cabin every day and the cleanest cabin at the end of the session wins a prize.
9:30 am – First Activity Session (Cabin group session) Cabins go to a different activity each session, or return to their favourite activities as a group.
11:00 am – Second Activity Session (Cabin group session)
12:30 pm – Lunch!
1:00 pm – Cabin Rest Hour Campers spend time in their cabins to take a break from the heat. They are welcome to nap, read, write, or play quiet games in their cabin.
2:00 pm – Round-Up Campers gather at the basketball courts to meet the instructors for their afternoon activities.
2:05 pm – Activity Session #3 (Camper-Choice) Campers sign up for activities that interest them most, and develop skills in that area over the camp session.
3:20 pm - Snack
3:35 pm – Activity Session #4 (Camper-Choice)
4:55 pm - Free Swim Campers can go for a swim, head to the craft hut, play sports, or just chill with friends.
6:00 pm – Dinner
6:45 pm – Vesper A daily reflection run by staff and campers to talk about the values we develop at camp. To understand more about how we integrate the United Church’s values into camp click here.
7:15 pm – Evening Program Evening Program is a chance for the whole camp to get together and play or perform.
8:15 pm – Snack Time A light snack and a drink will be available each night for all campers.
8:15 pm - Flag lowering and singing of "Taps" All campers and staff gather each night to close our day, take in the night sky and be thankful.
8:30 pm – Senior Social Older campers stay up for a while to socialize, play games, and hang-out in the rec hall.
8:30 - 10:30 pm – Camper Bedtimes - Age appropriate Campers brush their teeth and visit the bathroom for the evening. The counselling staff will then run a short bedtime program (debrief of the day, sing along, story telling).
