Meals are a critical program at Sparrow Lake camp,

ALL Sparrow Lake campers and staff eat in the dining for three meals each day with the exception of out-trips, cookouts, and BBQ's.  Sparrow Lake Camp is happy to work with parents/guardians of both campers and staff who have alternate dietary requirements.

For individuals with an anaphylaxis allergy (other than nuts) of a frequently served food item, Celiac disease, or any dietary preferences, please let us know in your Camper Information Form. If something changes (ie. your child has just learned of an allergy) please alert the camp as soon as possible on the Change in Plans form.

Our Kitchen team does our best to review the dietary needs of campers and staff prior to ordering food for their session. If there are any questions we will do our best to contact you prior to discuss any concerns we may have. We do ensure that there is  accommodation for the following dietary restrictions although others can be accommodated for if we know far enough in advance: Vegetarian/Vegan, Lactose, Gluten/Celiac, and Halal and Kosher.

If you would like to send your camper with supplementary meal items due to dietary restrictions please have them labelled with the campers name. It will be stored in the kitchen and provided when appropriate. Please DO NOT send an item to camp due to a child's preferences, we cannot accommodate every campers favourite breakfast cereal in our storage.

Sparrow Lake Camp is not deemed a “nut-free” camp, we are nut-sensitive and do our best to keep all traces out of the camp environment. We ask that you DO NOT send any food items to camp that may contain nuts and/or nut products including dairy substitutes.
