We have ended the first month of 2018 and many of us started the year with new goals. How many of us have maintained the goals we set a few weeks ago? This question comes down to the concept of commitment. Commitment is a value that is nurtured at camp but plays a role in the daily lives of every individual. Campers commit to running in the water for Polar Bear Swim, finishing their craft project, or learning a new skill. In life we commit to social events, school and work deadlines, and our self-improvement resolutions.
We at Sparrow Lake Camp have a commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and positive community. We commit ourselves to giving children the opportunity to learn and grow. We commit ourselves to respecting our natural world. Most importantly we commit ourselves to continue to better our campers by using our fun and interactive programming to teach skills, values, and commitment.
"It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through."
- Zig Ziglar
